This GR8-4’s Cup-A-Holic website was a group project assigned in March 2008. We were told to form a small group of 3-5 people, and then we had to create an original product and presented our product in front of the class.
My group had a meeting together to decide group name, a product we’re going to make, and a way to represent our product. We chose GR8-4 as a name because we thought GR8 is a cooler way to spell Great, and we added 4 next to the “GR8″ because there were 4 people in group. We were drinking Tim Horton’s coffee during the meeting, and that gave us idea to create a cup product. I came up with the name Cup-A-Holic. Why? Workaholic = One who has a compulsive and unrelenting need to work. Cupaholic = One who has a compulsive and unrelenting need to (use) cup.
Once we finished discussing and making sketches of the products we were going to have (1 main product and 3 add-ons), we started splitting tasks between us. Here’s how the tasks were splitted:
- Me: Designing and developing website (including coding the whole website), and then put it up online somewhere for public to see. Additional thing I had to do because someone who’s suppose to do it didn’t do it is to create information to be put on the website (product description, pricing, about us text, and all other text materials).
- Babul: Designing and developing GR8-4 logo.
- Woong: Drawing products in Illustrator based on sketches that we made together.
Here are some screen captures from the finished website (click on thumbnails to enlarge):

PS: We didn’t have to make a website, we were the only group in class who made a real website. I brought up the idea to make real website because designing website is my passion.
